Cruz Castle Grounds, Windenburg, 2024 It was a late Saturday evening and Alex and Henry were sitting in their secret spot among the bushes, near the castle. Every week they would meet here in the same place at the same time. Henry's parents thought he was hanging out with his cousins. His cousins would back him up with that excuse as they thought he was studying at the local library for extra peace. "Hmm... Alex?" said Henry. He was noticing a lot of crosses on his palms. "If I remember correctly, this means either I'm in serious danger, or my life's about to change. Am I right, Alex?" "Henry," said Alex and Henry heard a heavy sigh, "palm reading is total rubbish. Don't read too much into it." "Uh-huh," Henry was too busy frowning at his hands to take much notice of Alex. "Urgh," said Henry and he burried his head in his arms. "Dad's going to kill me." "About the maths test?" "Yeah." "You got an 87." "But he knows I can do better." "Hey, everything's going to be alright," said Alex. "Come." "Uhm... Alex... what was that?" "Nothing Henry." The Red Velvet Lounge, Moonlight Falls, 2031 "My father is dead because of you!" the man said, pushing Edith. "I don't know what you're talking about," said Edith, who really did know what he was talking about. "Vincencio," said Toni, "now is not the time and place." Vincencio released Edith. "You're right," he said and he turned towards Toni. "See you when the battle begins." "Vincencio, a word." Toni took Vincencio to a side room. "What were you doing?" she said. "That woman killed my father," he cried. His father Damien Vile, the Chief of Police, had been murdered last night at the Moonlight Falls airport. "It's not been proven whether it was Edith or not," said Toni. "The murder of Damien Vile is still a mystery. The Sweglords wish to leave us in the dark and we have to play along, unless you want the Renegades on our case too. You know, that gang they work for. If they discover you saw Edith spike his father, they will also know you saw who she was with and that would be a Renegade. We don't want them to know that we know the Sweglords work for them because then we would have another group to fight in Egypt and we would be outnumbered." "Hi, Madelyn right?" said Adrian. "Uh-huh," Madelyn's eyes remained fixed on the gaming machine. "You mind if I join?" "Sure." "I win!" shrieked Adrian. "Yeah, cool. Bye," said Madelyn. "Wait, I need to talk to you," cried Adrian. Madelyn stopped and turned around. "About what?" she said. "Your cousin, Quintin." "Come take a seat," said Madelyn and she pulled out a chair at the table near the gaming machine. "So you're his girlfriend, right?" said Madelyn. "Yeah, I just want to know if he's okay. Like, how's he doing in Ireland." "You know I haven't spoken to him like ever," said Madelyn. "My family doesn't want anything to do with him, since his mother married an Evil Genius." "I know," said Adrian. "But do you know anything at all?" "I know my family aren't interested in seeking him out, if that's what you're worried about." Adrian sighed. "Thanks," she said. And they talked a bit about other things. "Paris," said Lilith. "You've been moping in this room for ages, and I'm getting worried. No. Not worried, annoyed. Seriously annoyed. Everyone else is hanging in the main area, and you're hiding away like a hermit." Paris sighed deeply: "The king wishes to marry Henry and Caleb has kicked Henry out of the Sweglords. I fear my nephew is considered a problem and you know what that means..." "Oh," said Lilith. "I'm trying to encourage Caleb to let Henry back in, but he won't budge." "Paris," said Lilith. "Caleb's not going to let Henry die." "You sure? He has that look in his eyes. He's already mourning his son." "He loves Henry." "Yes, but Henry's dead to him." "Then open his eyes." Poses by Joannebernice Comments are closed.
